Tippy Cats Appeal by Karina
Recently I became aware of some cats living at the recycling centre of the Sunbury rubbish tip. A group of 5 lucky ones are fed each day, and they are a mum cat, one of her older kittens and three younger kittens. I organised for them to all be desexed from my own funds (all the kittens have been done so far, but mum cat is still to be caught), and in the process of trapping I also caught another female cat who has also been desexed. She is not a part of the group of 5. As we all know, undesexed female cats will quickly breed, giving birth to 2 litters a year, and being responsible for around 25 cats each year, and the multiplying effect continues. Although these cats have food and shelter, and would have a basic life at the tip, if able to I would like to find safe forever homes for them all. If not, sadly they will need to be returned to the recycling centre.
Can you help at all by doing any of the following:
Can you help at all by doing any of the following:
- Adopt a cat or kitten and provide them with a safe forever home where they’ll be well looked after.
- Foster, until a suitable home is found for them. They will need to be kept inside at all times until then.
- Make a contribution towards the desexing of the 2 male kittens, 1 female cat and 2 female kittens (with the 2nd adult female cat - Mum cat - due to be done when caught but she will be returned to the tip as she is not rehomable). Donations of any amount would be gratefully received and can be made by clicking the button below. Any surplus funds received (wouldn’t this be great!) will go towards anyone who offers to foster until they are rehomed.
- Share this page around to help get these cats and kittens rehomed.
Little Grey
Little Ginger
Little Torty
*Update* So happy to update that Little Torty has been adopted. Thanks so much Alii :)
Torty Extra
*Update* Torty Extra has a home thanks to Danielle :) This is so exciting because I really thought she was going to be the hardest to find a home for. TE will be living the good life on a huge property where she can do as she pleases with no expectations.
Big Ginger
The original plan was to trap, desex and release, but they all are such lovely cats/kittens and a proper home where they’ll receive lots of attention would be the preferred option. They all have different temperaments, most are very friendly and will let you pat them forever and purr whilst doing so, but aren’t so keen on being picked up. In time though, with lots of attention, patience and love, there is no doubt they will become lovely companions, they really don’t have far to go to get to that stage.
The extra girl who was caught will need someone who is happy to let her be and not expect too much from her. She is quite friendly but will let you know when she has had enough attention, it seems she may have been dumped at the tip and left to fight to survive on her own, as she is too friendly to be a feral cat who grew up at the tip with no human contact.
If you have any questions at all you can contact me at karina.leung72@gmail.com, leave your contact details and I’ll get back to you asap.
Thanks so much.
